Default 120 hours of driving lessons...

Ouch! If it is going to become anything like that learning to drive is going to become very expensive.

Maybe becoming a driving instructor will be the new plumber/sparkie.

I had 7 lessons and passed within a month.. To imagine having to have done another 193 is an awful thought.

My instructors wife worked at the test centre It didnt help me pass but it did help me find out the exact route the test would take and where all of the technical bits would be done though

Oh and..

The test should include simulated snow/ice, as well as rain. The amount of people who cannot drive properly in rain astonishes me.

I guess this goes back to the 120 hours of driving they do in sweden.. When I was up in Kiruna & Narvik, both way North in the Arctic I was astounded by the way they drove. OK they had studded tyres but most of them had normal cars, not 4x4's or anything and they drove like it was a summers day. Amazing.

A Saab 93 SportWagon taxi took us 15miles to the airport early one morning in some seriously bad winter weather with plenty of snow and ice.. It was like being driven by the Arctic stig
