Default 2006 Exige

Just found out some one down my road has a new Exige. Of course I'm a tad jealous but seek comfort in the fact that they bought it in 'filing tray blue', shame. I'll have to find out who it is and have a nose* - serious piece of kit.

Anyone driven one, old or new?

* or put a fishing rod through the letter box and borrow it for the weekend.

Guy I work with had one. He preceded to take anything off it that was percieved as non essential. It was a wreck by the time it was finished with! He used it for hill climbing etc. It would sit in the work car park with the roof off, keys in it, and raining! Looked awesome though.

Lotus weren't too amused when it went for servicing by all accounts

Too much money!

To be honest I've bored myself because I've been obsessing so much. By the end of the summer I'll have made my mind up and hopefully bought the new car. I'm just going to test an Elise 111R, TVR T350, Cayman S, and 3.6 996 C2 to help me make the right call.

I'm fed up looking at Porsche's because I just go overboard and that's all I've thought about for the past month. Stupid boyish excitement.

Had a ride in a 2005 one on the 1st lotus day, it was round a tight course, god they stick to tarmac round corners like S*** on a stick. So much so I felt sick when I got out

Personally there not for me, to focused for every day use, bugger all inside apart from aluminium, a bitch to get in and out of, I would imagine there great as a w/e toy. I was happy to get back in the S after the passenger ride.

Was the Exige S 33K on top gear last night, it seems a lot of money for what it is?

Yep on the price

Guess if you want a decent out the box track / hill climb car you cant ask for much more though?

Is it that bad as a daily drive? I cant afford one, just interested!

Bada, you not liking the Sagaris?

Had an Elise S2 for a few years and drove the old Exige twice.

Want to test the latest one but only when in a position to buy it!

Had a blast the other week in an Elise 111S, that K series engine
sounds crap after a year of the Honda.

The Toyota motor is the way to go.

Russ.

Ooh...Ariel Atom Supercharged?? On the TG test track its 6s a lap quicker than an Exige (only just a bit slower than the Enzo) and can be had for similar money. Plus its got a K20A in it!
