You can pick up a 2013 CR-V i-DTEC EX with < 30k miles on for about 15k and apparently it's a better drive than the current new model.

I'm tempted by one in all honesty but not remotely tempted by 30k of one, no matter how good Honda says the deal is.

Spec'd up an HR-V with some nice options the other night, almost £38k which is double the price of the base car.

Madness. Utter utter madness.

Why does everyone fall into the trap of 'It's only XX a month and 0% interest'?

I guess the general public only care about how much they are laying out each month rather than look at the TCO.

Minvo

If you are tempted, make sure you take a lengthy test drive. I couldn't get comfortable over the weekend I borrow one - never had such an uncomfortable 250 miles....

For me, the seat squab was too short.

Too many people don't know the difference between cost and value.

Penny-wise, pound-foolish.

38 large for a Harvey? Doesn't even have an engine, nor 4WD. Might as well be a big white rabbit, as a white elephant.

Does Honda think it's British Fucking Leyland now, or something. I suppose Bagpuss looks a bit like an Allegro...

I don't like this PCP shit where you essentially rent the car for 3 years and then have the choice of being fecked over by handing over nearly £14k in addition to the £10k you stumped up front or give the thing back & walk away with jack all knowing that you may as well have flushed £17k down the shitter - where the feck is the sense in that?

Call me old fashioned but I would rather either buy something outright or take a loan and at least the motor is yours at the end of it.
