270 bhp from a K20A!
I know they respond well to mods, but that is a very high figure!

They done it long time ago with the Speed series which all run with mugen k20 engine 260bhp, it seems to have more than that when you actually see the car run. 270bhp shouldn't be difficult with the k20z engine with itb and mugen cylinder head. Touring car was running 300+bhp NA a while ago with mugen race engine.
Pretty unremarkable these days
The old Vauxhall red tops were doing this fairly easily more than a decade ago.
The duratec in the current Caterham R500 makes 260bhp without breaking a sweat.
No doubt an awesome car and an even better branding exercise

I've never seen a redtop break the 200bhp mark without extensive work Inc throttle bodies etc, I know the touring card with the reverse head made big power though!
In terms of the K20 I can believe it, I had hondata k-pro with quite agressive timing, RBC inlet manifold, DC sports exhaust manifold, full 2.5" system, aem cai. With those I managed to get 253 bhp and 256 bhp on two separate dynos!
