The one reply I could have given him about 'anything I didnt like' would be those horrible silver door handles

Loved the write-up. I didn't intend to put a dampener on things with my earlier post, it just so happened that your post coincided with me having read the Autocar article.
We love talking cars. We wouldn't log on here if we didn't. It is nice to hear other's views, be they journos, guys in the pub or forum members. In the end we will all make up our own minds.
When I was smitten after a test drive in the S, before I knew of the existence of this forum, I asked the opinion of The Telegraph's Honest John, who I now does not command much respect on here, about replacing my Lotus Elan with the S.
I was told to forget the S as it was 'difficult' and likely to fry its brakes on the track and to go for the Nissan 350Z instead. I felt that I was ready for something difficult after my flattering Lotus and the journalist's advice helped even though I didn't take it.
I do love the squat stance of the Zed and much prefer the new headlight design to the old slabby one.

I have to say that ever since I got home I can't stop thinking about my test drive!

Last sentence; that's "it"!
That undefinable quality as to whether a car fits, or not. The Z has evidently struck a chord.
With the inevitable horrendous depreciation, this car could be a real bargain in a couple of years' time!
