You have the above to buy two cars (must be 2). Both must be new, one must be semi practical the other must be an adrelain rush. Both must be able to be used everyday. What combo do you go for? FWIW my ideas are.
Range Rover sport tdv8 and s2000
Z4 m coupe and r32
rs4 and s2000 (slightly over)
s2000 and r32 (pennies to spare)

New M5 & a Yamaha R1, yes I know one of these isn't a car, but it meets all your other criteria
Should leave a bit of change for some trackdays too

Buy Mike K's 'nearly new' S2000 or save a little harder or EU import. I can't think of two better every day cars. The audi is quick, practical and ooozes quality and the S2000 is fun, roof comes down, stylish and still every day useable. I'd love the choice of those two cars in the morning Personally I'd have a RS4 and a VX220 Turbo (with mods) but you say the BOTH must be able to be used every day with ease.

That wouldn't bother me in the least. The current 997 looks and has more than enough bhp.
You also have to bear in mind that it is very hard to sell cars privatley when you get to 20k plus.

If you were to wait until 08 - 09 for the facelift model I am sure there will be another facelift model in 11 - 12 with slightly more power.
A good reason not to buy new but I do think that the 997 will hold its price for some time as it is a massive improvement, looks wise, over the bland 996.
