Aberdeen
I made a round-trip up to the Granite City today (c. 440 miles and 32.1 mpg from the A8 for anyone who's interested..).
There is a huge amount of building going on, with what looked like lots of apartments, business parks and trying-to-be-trendy office blocks. The thing which really amazed me about the place was the cars; it was wall-to-wall with new S4s, RS4s, Mercedes of all descriptions, Porsche and Range Rovers.
The demographics of the place must make it a nirvana for anyone retailing premium cars, lifestyle gewgaws and Bose/B&O crap...

Friend of mine is living up there, was spending circa £70k on a Porker. Dealer wouldn't budge on the screen price at all, as he said if you don't want it someone else will.
So my mate went to Newcastle and bought one!
Plenty of money around up there, house prices are mental!

Mine's a classic Audi A8; it isn't really encumbered with OTT FREDs. I appreciate your contemporary Audi experience is somewhat tainted, but my Audi is from an era when engineering integrity was seemingly more important to the brand.
In all honesty, this A8 is the best car I have ever owned

Horrible dump rivalled only by Telford in terms of horribleness. It wins though, by virtue of being even colder and more miserable. I'd certainly want lots of money and a nice car if I lived there, otherwise suicide would start to look attractive very quickly. I suppose it's different for Celts - they are used to the evil climate.
