Years ago, was ok, but the reading material was the best part (Roadcraft). Subsequent driver assesment days with work have been more practical and stuck in my memory better. AIM is a bit old school I think.

Nice one Dave - so when do you pick up the suit hat and we start saying "Home James" to you?

Well done Dave.

I did the IAM test years ago, my dad made me do it when I was a student, withthe promise of a car if I passed, I duly did, he gave me an old Mini which was an MOT failure with severe rust problems within 2 weeks of my getting it (the floorpan on the driver's side went through on the Birmingham Ring Road) so I scrapped it and spent the money on beer instead.

Useful knowledge for a speed-freak 18-year-old though, taught me a lot.

Do you still have to do the commentary?

good idea that-well done dad

and you don't have to do commentary any more.

Well done Dave-I passed mine 4 years or so ago when I first bought the S2000.

Only thing I didn't like(agree) was "the system".

Do they let you cross your hands now?

Well done, I'm doing the RoSpa advanced driving course.
These advanced driving course's certainly make you more aware and hopefully less likely to have an accident.

Dave

Was the test as difficult as you thought? Are there a certain number of errors you can make before failing, or how does it work? I have the form to do my bike IAM on my kitchen table, but haven't got around to joining up.
