I'd love to understand why most cars (incl my CRZ) tramline on 17" but are ok on 16"
The ride is definitely better on the 16" (even with winter tyres) - it was only a coincidence that I visited the dentist today ...

I think it's just compliance, the tyres are softer on 16s due to wall height. Imagine pushing a hard wheeled trolley over a patio versus an inflatable wheeled bike..
Or a mountain bike vs a road bike
I've been pondering the same route as Fester but I dumped my spare spare 16s and my others have the winters on.
Hmm

Sidewall height is partially giving better feel.
It's also the extra width/grip and mass of the wheels, overloads the suspension and corrupts its behaviour, especially over bumps.
Some companies (the Vages) used to use a lower wheel offset on the littler wheels to increase steering feel, whilst increasing it with the big ones, in order to damp the effect by changing the scrub radius.

After my track fun the other day it popped into my Man brain that it would make an awesome track car for me
I think however 2x S2000 plus 1 M3 might make nina finally give up on me. She's just taken VR too so is not signing off any CapEx at all
Certainly ask

It takes me about 40 minutes just to fit one tyre to a wheel on the buggy, think yourself lucky.
And I wish they only weighed 2kg more than my daily's wheels....the tyres alone weigh what a normal wheel/tyre setup does
