Default AM vs XKR

I'm beginning to think i'm a poser. Watching top gear on sunday they tested the new Jag XKR back to back with an Aston V8

the Jag is faster
more powerful
has better use of technology etc etc
is pretty bloody nice looking
and is cheaper

I'd still take the absolutely stunning AM any day.

Am I a loon? Buying purely on looks/presence.

The best looking cars in the world are Astons

not at all
I love Jags (I'm on my third now) but you would have to be certifiable to choose the new XKR over the baby Aston

In 3 years time the reverse will apply.

Jags don't hold their money at all (for example I'm driving a 98plate XJR as a beater, which I bought for 7.5K, 53K new!)

Astons tend to fare better second hand

If you like the XKR wait a few years and pick up one for a third of it's original price

I thought the Jag looked like a Hyundai Coupe. And red did it no justice whatsoever.

Mind you I've never seen the attraction of Jags. It did sound nice though.

So yes....Aston for me too please

You're not the only one thinking that shipley. The front 18" of the car look really really cheap. Not

the only reason you would take the Jag would be because it's cheaper

surely?

although few would probably admit that

Just watching now. Yes the Aston looks class, much more so than
any rivals.
