But inside, they are very bland (for what they cost, before you start shouting that I drive a car with NO interior), and simply not exciting enough.

I'd rather have something more exciting like an '04 Gallardo.
IMO they are a work of art.

I take it by exciting you mean the interior because the Vantage is a pleasure to drive.

I don't doubt it's a cracking drive, but the interior to me does not say "I cost 80 grand". And it really should.

I struggle with Aston's. I've been in a few whilst hanging about the Lotus/Aston dealership in Edinburgh and although they are pretty, I can't tell any of them apart. I think the one I like is the cheapest and smallest one, the V8 Vantage.

I dislike XK's though - they're just not for me. They're fast on the straights, but too heavy and too too big to be flung around on a country lane.

but you are missing the pint of the Jag if you want a sporty car

Do my commute for a week, in a Jag and in a Lambo

After a week in the Lambo you'll be crying for the Jag

for example I couldn't do that commute in the S2000, it is fast enough but it is uncomfortable, it is noisy and once you hit town it is crap.

The Jag is comfy, easy to overtake with capable enough round the corners and great in town. I wouldn't take it out in a weekend jaubt with you guys, it just couldn't handle the abuse.

If I had to get rid of one, it would have to be the S (but I don't so I have the best of both worlds)

I agree with that, commuting in the S (and any time I've had to in the Elise) was shit. I desperately wanted to sell up and buy a comfy waft-mobile.

The answer, should you need to commute is definitely to have both.

Gallardo's weigh about the same as the XK.. it's a hell of a big car, on the A52 out of nottingham i saw one and he was struggling to fit in his lane
