Another classic thread on VX220
Oh, I should add that reading further on, the damaged car in the pics is the same car.
This geezer is trying to sell a car that I think has been in an accident and he knows it.
But, as I said above, it's not that big a deal if the car was not written off, but I don't think he would have been honest about that if someone asked him the question...

I'm wondering if it's a different car but with a slightly more sinister background.
Wondering if it might be a ringer.
- Original VX220 is written off
- Car bought for scrap
- Another similar VX220 is stolen
- A bit of constructive work around registrations/VIN (which is almost identical, one digit out by a value of 2)
I've not read enough, thought it through well enough yet but wonder what anyone else thinks?

It's not a ringer, it was a write-off that's been fixed on the cheap.
Normally, Elise-based cars are written off when the tub is damaged in any way.
IIRC VXR No.16 had some major impacts that meant it should have been scrapped.
With so few produced, a duff VXR220 is a PoP to track down - hence the outcome of that thread!
Why he tried to sell a bent car to a tight-knit community like the one on VX220.org is beyond me...

Its a VXR so only 200 made. Would be easy to check if its a ringer from the chassis number.
