Default Any Hillclimbs

We have been able to firm up our dates for coming to England to the end of April or the first of May. Before we buy the tickets I thought I'd see if there are any Hillclimbs near to the area of Grimsby during that time period. If so we'll make sure we are there whilst it's going on.

We can only get away this time for 4-6 days so we want to make them count.

We've never seen a Hillclimb and would like to see how it's different from our Autocross or Solo other than being on a street instead of a big parking lot.

It's not a holiday, more of a working vacation.

Isn't that a bit like asking about the Cambridgeshire downhill skiiing championship? You could play billiards up there!

May 10th. I'll see if I can adjust schedules to match.

I really didn't want to wait that long to come, but I might be able to work it.

How often do you have hillclimbs?

I am presuming these are on public roads that are closed for the day.

Oh you Southerners and your almighty knowledge of british geography.

Grimsby is just on the edge of the lincolnshire wolds, lots of hill, not very high, but nothing like the fens which are about 50 miles away.

Google maps terrain will give you a good idea.

I don't know what you call hills over there, but with our approximately 10' change in elevation in the Dallas/Fort Worth area (other than creek beds) I count just about anything as a hill.

It so flat over here that I'm about 75-80 miles from Dallas Love Field and I can see the planes coming in for an approach from my back door.

You're coming over on holiday, to Grimsby?

What travel agent sold you that holiday?

I have a bridge to sell you if you're interested, Humber bridge, near Grimsby, we're replacing it with a man in a coracle, yours for a song........

(In all seriousness, Harewood is a nice venue for a hillclimb, I cut my racing teeth there, going up the hill in an MG Midget when I was 16. The house and gardens are nice too so a good day out all round).

Mark - he's coming over to purchase a Mongoose from a village just outside Grimsby.

I've tried to sell him the delights of Grimsby and Cleethorpes but I think he's expecting Vegas so might take him to Skegness

Was going to suggest Chatsworth as somewhere to visit as he would like to go to a 'castle' and unfortunately other than Tattershall Castle we're abit low on them in Lincolnshire and Windsor is a bit of a trek.
