I think the point was missed by a mile here
Point has been missed? Knowing you it will end up with a big spoiler on the back and you will still take it on a track day or two

Don't forget it wasn't that long ago you were talking about getting an FD2

Have to say I am still surprised you didnt opt for an M-Sport version over the SE?

I cant afford the M sport variant.

I have to eat beans on toast every day as it is.

Going from two extreme cars to an SE BMW variant, I have my doubts on how long before you get bored with it. I do miss my S alot, the BMW is great on long journeys but thats about it

The end result is the same 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque as before, but with a fatter torque curve that maintains its peak from 1,200-5,000 rpm.
I think you will find the claimed power is understated. Claimed power on my version is 306 bhp. It was dynoed at Powerstation in Tewkesbury at 325bhp without any modifications. I had the BMW Performance Pack fitted which is a revised map for the ECU plus an extra cooling radiator. It then was dynoed at 335 bhp.

The torque was measured at 349 lb.ft at 2,950 rpm up from 318 lb.ft at 3,285 rpm.

Chap at Powerstation said BMW were known to be conservative about claimed power outputs,

that might explain why a modified 335 isn't as fast as my unmodified 102,000 mile M5

M sport variants are rubbish IMHO. They're too stiffly sprung so the ride is rubbish. The SE gives a better ride without compromising the ride too much.

The 535d M Sport I rode in seemed fine to me, better than my Legacy anyway.

It could've been a smooth road.

Are the 5s & 3s the same?

Longer wheelbase on the 5?

Tried a few cars lately myself too.

The 135i M Sport ride was crap, but being used to the Reno and the S2k we could live with it.

The SE 335i is in another league, seems to corner fairly well on the oem RFs but very smooth ride.

Ultimately this is a family car, not a track toy - I will be hiring 'proper' cars for that in future as it's more cost effective on a share basis.
So the need for extreme cornering is negated.
traffic light Gp still on the cards though
Welshman, noted re the figures and I have seen that mentioned before.

I like these bimmer things, so just ordered an new 3 series for a runabout for work
