Default Audi A3 Buying Advice

Friend wants to buy a c. 2 yr old A3 - possibly a Diesel.

Mostly motorway driving, and a girl - she is not bothered about performance!

Wants it in black, but hates there being any faux wood on the interior.

What should she be looking for, and what kind of price?

Cheers!

Look best in metalic black, avoid SE model thats the old farts
one with the wood and I think 5 door looks better than 3.

Oh and the old 1.9 tdi is no where near as good as the 2.0.

Russ.

I'd say a black 2 yr old diesel A3.

As cheap as she can.

HTH.

we easily get 51mpg out of 1.9Tdi sportback

it is what is equivalent to the SE version.. but comes with aluminium interior (you can choose wood or ally)..

all the normal gear.. metallic/rain sensor/parking sensor/double airco/cruise

I think the best model is the 2.0TDI 3 door SLine. Looks great and has a very good diesel engine.

S-Line suspension is too crashy, avoid it, it's what the Germans use to make the car 'sporty', it doesn't, it just makes it uncomfortable.

...and wiser!

If she's got her mind set on the brand, there's no helping. Introduction of facts will only create tears.

But I agree with Wampa; the Golf is far cheaper & far less pretentious.
