Default Aural delight

I think it's inevitable that we're going to see the rise of the electric car in motor sport as emissions laws become tighter and governments push for a cleaner solution, as well as the problems with circuits coming under threat of closure due to noise levels; so in that respect I welcome electric cars, rather that than circuits close and become housing estates.

With high performance characteristics of maximum torque from zero revs.. no doubt future racing will be very fast and thrilling for the driver but for the audience will it be quite as exciting to watch (hear) from the sidelines..

The mighty Porsche 917 throttle blipping down-shifts.. spine tingling.

Absolutely !!

1.5 litre V16 - the cylinders must have looked like shot glasses !! - using a petrol/alcohol mix. It kept freezing in the carbs hence the spluttering you can hear on that clip, which I assume is the Donington lap from the CD that came with Nick Mason's 'Into The Red' book. I had the book but gave a friend the CD and never got it back. Couldn't remember to whom I'd given it and no one would own up ...

The Internet came to my rescue years later as someone had uploaded all the car soundtracks ...
