I am sure, but the daddy of all painful exhausts for me was a racing, Asha Pentax sponsored, RX7. It was decades ago and my ears are still ringing...

Ah, now, in a very similar vein I suspect, the most painful (nausea inducing even!) car I have ever witnessed was the Le Mans winning Mazda 787B.
I went to Silverstone once for the practice for the following days 12 hour race in which those Mazda's were racing we somehow wangled our way into the pits for nearly 2 hours and i can confirm the noise did hurt !!!
