When I had my rs4 I insured that with zero ncb. Only 550. The power of age

If I had my own flesh and blood would I be happy with the tin can Micra? God no. I'd like you be forced to have a normal safe car on the driveway and it would be the S2000 that I would be doing the sums for to see if I can have as well

Great choice of beater. I bought one of these two years on the trot to get through the winter and loved it.

I tended to barter the seller down to the £500 mark (they were just ordinary Sportings rather than the MS edition), clean them up and sell them again in the spring. Always sold for more than I paid for them. Hugely fun bangernomics!

Rich hated it I think - the tiny pedals were much too close together for his feet to cope with

I'm pretty sure you can't exactly mirror your ncb across two cars, they say mirror but if you were to take out two new policies with both set as say 6 ncb the price would be cheaper.

Big con.

Some insurers will.

I'm on AXA for my Micra and my S2000. I have a 6 year NCB which I used to insure the Micra. Then I had a 3 year NCB which I used for the S2000 and AXA were still cheapest.

Once I submitted the NCB they sent an email back saying as I'd insured both with them they would apply the 6 year NCB to the S2000 and were happy to inform me this would result in a £200 refund on the policy.

I didn't plan it - i forgot to check, it was only after taking out the insurance assuming full NCB that I realised the problem. Swift Cover said they were quite happy to match the full NCB of the S2000 policy on the Fiat one. On the basis ( i suspect ) that the Fiat is under powered and cheaper to crash and if i'm driving the Fiat then i'm not driving the S2000.

Took me completely by surprise as well but I won't sniff my nose at a £200 refund

I insured the cars about 2 months apart without even knowing they offered those kinds of multicar benefits. They just happened to be cheapest for me on both cars.

Swift being owned by AXA it must be a standard practice. And I doubt the cars matter, I insured the Micra first using my 6 years and then the S2000 expecting to just be using my other 3 year NCB I had to use.

I think the only complication from it could potentially be no longer building 2 lots of NCB as before, I guess I'll see come renewal time. Worse case I end up next year with 7 years NCB from the AXA policy and the other one is still on 3.
