Nice. Proper muscle car.

I was best man at a wedding in Vancouver last week and drove the wedding car - a 1983 Cadillac Eldorado in black with red pimp leather.
It was by far the worst handling car I have ever driven but at last it had the decency to be made when Americans still made their cars look half decent. The Dodge Durango fullsize SUV we hired to go to Whistler was just slow (even with a 5.7 hemi) and cramped inside even though it was the size of a house (it dwarfed the Range Rover parked next to it).

Edit - the inside of the Eldorado was like this....pimpy....

It was Speed Racer so you didn't miss anything. I actually didn't get a place as I'd forgotten to apply. But as it's a 3 minute walk to the cinema I wandered down. I bumped into Sophie (Essogirl) whilst I was down there and Richard Abbot who organises it now has an S2000.

And it sounded absolutely amazingly filthy. It's the only work I can think to describe it. Only a few minutes previously i'd heard this pair pulling in, and yes, the 360 is a Challenge Stradale. And that was refined auto audio pr0n. Sort of like Scarlett Johanson in an arty but soft pr0n film.

Then the Eleanor came in and it was like Scarlett with fake boobs and a trout pout taking it on all fours from all directions.

"Best" and "US Car" just don't work in the same sentence. I'm afraid I just can't take US cars seriously given the utter $hite they mostly produce.

Unnecessarily large cars (with strangely small interiors, as MarkB mentioned) with unnecessarily large engines and with unnecessarily large amounts of vinyl and plastic inside. Those slushmobiles devalue any of the rare, semi decent stuff they produce.

I mean, Frank Cannon's Lincoln is still bouncing on its springs as we speak and he parked that up in 1976 when they canned the series ...

This thread reminds me that I must register americancarsareshit.com ...

That's what America does best.
