Default BMW 135i

http://www.autoblog.com/tag/135i/

It seems like the UK will be getting a 306bhp 1 series! Madness.

Before I get completely flamed, I do agree that the 1 series is not the best looking car, however I think the 1 series 3 door hatch in M Sport guise is actually not too bad... just wish they would make the front lights smaller.

The attraction to me is that I have always loved hot hatches, they drive so well and are loads of fun. I really enjoyed driving the 130i M Sport, but felt it was too good, and needed more power (the 130 can do 0-100 in 14 secs!).

The 135i with it's crazy 306bhp will be good for 0-62 in 5.3 (more likley 0-60 in 4.9 secs) and an easy high 11 or low 12 0-100mph. I think they are awesome performance stats.

One thing that is likely to be missing will be an LSD as it seems only M cars get an LSD Would be good if BMW made this an option.

The major flaw with this car is likely to be the price, both the list and the depreciation. However for me, I am contemplating a Z4M Coupe next and for the same bhp (with a very simple remap) I would get a crazy hatch for far less.

I think the coupe in the pics looks terrible, it's been made for the US market and I don't think the poor buggers get the slightly better looking hatch.

I think I can live with the strange looks... but I am sure that this car will cause some interesting posts though

I'm a BMW hater .. and the one series is awful.

The only thing worse than a BMW? A BMW driver

I've had a few of these try and race me lately. The funniest was some 40/50 year old geezer with his young son in the front. They had the look of "hey son, watch me beat these two posers" ..

I saw it was a 120d or something .. Why bother?

I think I beat him only using prime numbered gears.

Andy, I too am interested in the Z4MC, but fear the total cost might be too much for me. Have you had any experience of the (cheaper) 3.0 version?

I've also heard the Z4C is soon for the chop? Maybe they'll facelift it before then or even stick the 335T in it?

I've neaver driven one myself, but think a test drive is in order soon.

I personally would not touch the Z4C 3.0.

I have been put off non M Z4's by the Z4 3.0i. It was awful on less than perfect roads, whereas the 130i felt a lot more assured on the same roads, even with 18" run flats.

The Z4M does not use run flats or have the same electronic steering, but still does get criticised for the B road handling.

I need to drive one too.

I just fancy something a bit crazy next. I think it depends on how much of a beating my wallet can take! I have specced a new 130i M Sport and it came to about

Am I missing something here? The 1 series we (the UK) have has a hatch and imo looks nice.

This has a boot and looks like some shitty focus.

A 1 series (UK shape) with a 35 in, now that would be the bees bollocks.

Which shape will be get?

The article in AutoBlog shows the 'coupe' version that the US will get.

IMO that model is unlikely to come to the UK, but I wouldn't rule it out.

The *35i engine will come to the new 3 and 5 door 1 series in November which is great news.

The main thing about the coupe pics is that they prove that BMW have the balls to stick the *35i engine in the 1 series.

Well if the 35 goes in the little 1 series we have, price aside, it would be stunning little motor.
