Default Bmw Z4

pix `and preview in AutoExpress and Autocar (bleeuurrrgghh)...

supposedly will banish the bad memories of the 'hairdressers favourite' and 'give the Boxster a real challenge'

hmmmm, may have heard that before...

initially 2.5 & 3.0 ( a 2.0 4-pot to follow)...they'll be c.

Well the Z3 (appearance wise anyway) eventually grew on me. I think the Z3 looks cool fromthe back (Wide and low) and OK from the front. Not a fan of the retro look when viewed from the side at all.

I don't think there's any danger whatsoever that I'll change my mind about this one though. It looks like it was designed by a committee after a heavy lunchtime session at the pub!

Definitely don't like that wing line dipping down the door and then up again over the wheel arch ( a la Jaguar XK or Triumph TR ) Combined with that concave area on the door, it's a design feature that looks most odd

Sorry, but it's a minger, just like the new 7 and the Golf class hatchback. Personally, I think BMW have totally lost the plot, and Merc and starting to gain it...

The thing I disliked most was the WHOPPING great BMW badges stuck to the side - as if anyone is going to have difficulty distinguishing it as a beamer!

I saw some of the early photos a while back and those in Autocar.
I really think its incredibly ugly - I would also rate the Z3 as the ugliest currently roadster (its the only one I didn't consider when getting the S2000).
Looks like it will be poor value for money, too.
Just my opinion.

Hmmmm.

First impressions aren't really very positive - it's too angular for my taste. The lines seem very harsh and forced, and lack the grace and poise that the S (in my admittedly biased view) possesses. That said, it might grow on me as I see it more., I suppose.

Either way, I agree with Dan that it doesn't appear to be very good VFM. No danger of me selling up to acquire one........
