If you have TVR questions, ring Noel Flannery of V8 Sports & Classics. I'm sure that, for a modest fee, he would sniff you out a TVR that had been propertly sorted and looked after.

I've pm'd you his contact details ...

It's already gone Nick, was made an offer i couldn't refuse. Didn't cost me anything to have it for the short period i did, so no loss. A colleague at work has just suggested a late V8 esprit, have to say i quite like the thought of it.
V8 Esprit? That's very old and very explosive - would make a TVR look reliable.

Fast, interesting, but the handling and forward visibility were a bit questionable, although I think Lotus did dial out some of the understeer on tha last ones...

Not sure about the caymans looks, which is why i was leaning more towards the 911.
If you don't need the 2+2 seats a used Cayman is excellent value. I think they look better than the 997 and I expect they are a lot more fun to drive.

Otherwise,

V8 Espirit is leftfield but would destroy your finances in my opinion. If you want to take a risk Sagaris all the way

how about an exige? you could get something very tidy for

Having just read a couple of articles on esprits after your comments, definitely off the list. I nearly bought an exige before the RS4, brilliant car but after something with a bit more refinement.

NSX, i would say is a possibility, although looking around there isn't much available and the ones that are seem overpriced.

TVR, i do and don't want one but can't seem to decide.

911's aren't exactly common where i live in Scotland, so not held in the same contempt as they are down here. Next door neighbour in London has an "M" plate, makes a lovely noise and is a great shape, so wonder if going down the older route is an option? I've only driven one 911 ever but did really like it.

I know this may sound like a ridiculous other option, but what are the opinions on DB7's?

They're an Astom Martin based on the Jaguar XJS chassis, 6 cylider s/c engines or a 6.0 V12... so although big they have no room, don't handle particularly well etc. and the Servicing through Aston is likely to be

I can get you one of the last V8 Esprits if you're interested (which you probably aren't). Owner would sell for

I followed a T350C through Paisley the other day. I'd forgotten how small they are in comparison to the Tuscan. Looked great and made me want one instantly ...
