The car you hated the most?
#21
The car that nearly made me want to cry with despair was the Alfa Brera 3.2 V6 Q4.
It looked gorgeous and I was excited to drive an Alfa again. Then I drove it and it felt as rubbery as the Vectra I described in the other thread. Except it had the concrete wheel feeling of a 1980s Cavalier as well.
On a road my old 'Lude would handle with aplomb, it was like a small boat in a swell.
And the seats squeaked.
Absolute POS. I couldn't believe a modern car could be so bad. And it's an ALFA.

it had no redeeming features whatsoever. i used to leave it unlocked in the hope it would get nicked. unfortunately the local scum bags had more taste.

very chaved - alloys, lowered, ICE, quad lights, m3 mirrors etc.
always working on the POS and after a 1.5year owner i gave up and sold it for my first honda. i've never looked back and definately wont be buying another euro-box for a while!

I've just thought of something which eclipses the shitness of the AX GT.
Golf GTi 1.8T Mark 4. Utter turd. Souless. Low rent. I sold it within 6 weeks. Moment of madness a long time ago!

Blimey! I'd never have put the Mk4 as being that bad. It's still the best car in the world (apart from everything else german) according to most of the hacks.
*mind you, we looked at one for Karen before settling on the Civic. Sitting on the bar stool reaching for the steering wheel all felt so bad, we didn't even bother with the test drive!

It was an S reg, I suspect built in Spain, and was when the quality went right down hill. It's also the car that really kicked the GTi badge in the nuts.
Both passenger windows dropped down and required new mechanisms, it drove like a wallowing pig and sounded so un-gti like it was painful... turbo lag was bad too.
I hated that car
The Mark 5 however, is nice and i'd have one of them. It's like they just couldn't be arsed with the Mark 4. The 5 is nice and sharp / hi tech again.

I had a a Citroes AX GT when I was 20
It got written off after I stoved it into the back of a learner driver who stalled pulling out onto a roundabout.... and then I got another one!

Was, you should have said; there's a lot of stories regarding the MK6 and especially the Portusguese Scirocco (I thought il Scirocco was called el Leveche in the Iberian peninsula?) being of shoddy quality once more.
Still at least if they drive OK when the turbo pipe isn't farting, it's a start.

Rover 25 - utterly shite! Head gasket blew at 20K miles and it took the garage 4 months to finally fix the damn thing. Still acted odd from time to time so was chopped for a Mini which has a bloody noisy power steering pump....
Nothing beats Japanese cars for DD reliability.
