I spent the afternoon at Castle Coombe for some karting.

They have an outdoor track and it's great fun... especially during the odd rain shower.

Some truly shocking driving on display.

The on heat I won, was the one I started in pole. In all others I was shunted into the tyre wall by some people who try to hold the racing line through a corner when you are side by side on the inside coming up to it.

I still managed to qualify in 5th place on the grid for the final and worked my way up to second, before again being wiped out. Then spent about 4 laps behind 3rd place but unable to pass before making a balls out effort on the last corner to nick the place... cue reacquaintance with tyre wall and a drop back to 5th place.

Got the moral victory though, as had the quickest lap on the day by over a second.

But as I sad... great fun!
