Caught by Red Light camera - any way out of it?

AV Forms motoring section if you can be bothered...
From their general attitude I thought it was going to be a corsa or nova forum

If they started confiscating and crushing their bikes it would stop overnight

It would work for me .....
I was amazed by the general opinion towards traffic lights when I first moved to Leeds.
The first time I stopped on an Amber light and two cars flew passed (from behind) me was quite a shock.
If you are not careful up here you will brake on an Amber and get slammed up the arse because the guy behind has assumed that you are going to accelerate not brake.
Coming from Sleepy Suffolk, this attitude was quite a shock.
I'm now much more careful pulling away on Green than I ever used to be

Although, after reading the thread, there was only one guy that "condoned" it initially and you were a "bit quick" to react.

It just gets on my nerves really. One wonders what the reaction would be if someone jumping a red light ploughs into these people's cars, not that it's hard to guess of course.
..........and then there are pedestrain controlled traffic lights.
Don't you love the brain-dead yob, or often school kids looking for a laugh, who push the button and then continue walking along the pavement.
Or the button is pressed, a lone soul quickly crosses road and then you sit there seemingly for ever waiting for the green.
Subject to nobody else being about, & using local knowledge about fixed cameras, I frequently continue on my was as soon as pedestrian has completed crossing the road, red light or not.
Likewise at road works, where very short length of road is single lane.
Recently & regularly encountered at about 4am such works, and no way was I going to sit there at the red light when it was clear nothing was coming the other way. Thought twice though when in the dark and with headlights blinding me was unsure if a car behind me was pesky-plod.
So with motoring life being increasingly frustrating rules will get broken, even by those who are old enough to know better. That's life.

There is amber light jumping, and blatantly going through a red, which is obviously a bit naughty.
I got my first ever points 2 years ago for running what I was certain was an amber light.
I was in a very bad mood, after being stopped by the previous 5 sets of lights with not much traffic around, and knew that this set took an age to go green again. My fault, and didn't even try and argue the case.
I don't think the councils help with the way lights are setup. Many of them are totally incorrectly timed.
Some Eurpoean cities switch them off at night. Perfect.
The other day a big set near me packed up, and the traffic had never flowed better.
