Probably better trying a Porsche forum tbh, it's not busy here and anyone who has made that move is probably not around anymore

I am on one of them but this is better IMO, I still love my Honda just looking for a change.

I've contemplated jumping into a 981 Boxster too last year, however it soon becomes clear after several epic 9/10ths drives, it's a fricking awesome car for its age my 06 S2000. Best handling car I've had out of the 3 I've owned.
You are right about the 987, they're a sort of upgrade in the eyes of being GT-ish, but unless you spend up to the 3.4 post 09 plate(deleted IMS), you'll pay. Then you're sort of getting into 981 money which is an overall better package. Alas, neither set your pants on fire. Posing bastard car with expensive issues ahead.. so think carefully.
I weighed it up and decided I'd miss the frenetic nature of the screaming engine hooked up to this k and n air charger- childishly frightening dog walkers dropping a cog, and the rarity of s2000s. The respect they finally get from the majority of the motoring community. The car is just special.
And you know what - I'd miss those loving drivers of MX-5's waving at me.
I'll run mine until the bottom end calls it a day

well said! I just sometimes find the S a bit slow, a bit more poke would be nice but it has to be the right car, as you say post 09 without doubt! I had an Mx5 driver wave at me once, wasn’t expecting it!

It's slow I suppose when compared to some other cars. Modern hot hatches have 300bhp+ though are often heavier

I love the Jekyl and Hyde character switch and the supreme engineering of the Honda

But I have a boosted one, it does not lack from the speed perspective. It's an option

Mate at work has a GTS, he loves it but it is frequently a 1 bag service

It kinda helps being slightly slower than it's 6 pot competition, having 150 odd horsepower pre-vtec.. keeps you out of trouble in the urban areas. That's how I look at it. Licence still clean (so far touch wood).. the more torque and thrust, easy to ping those pesky cameras! Betcha EVs and Dervs have the most speeding convictions than ol boy racers like us!
A while back, I remember several s2000 owners chopping in for z4m's. That engine eh.. The thing that's wrapped around it though was never that convincing a package. Nor the older z3m (brother had one, bloody twitchy bastard and he crashed the damn thing twice, plus his indy mechanic lost it on a straight!). True widow maker I suppose, there's appeal trying to stop the rear end overtaking itself and finding the limit. However...
OT - good luck with the Cayman search.

1) Not a chance young man. Ticket free since the M3 days. Now very much Miss Daisy in the EV to conserve range

2) ditto to the OP.
Old episode they did a Boxter S on Wheeler Dealers today. Paid £1k, spent just shy of £3k more, sold £6.4k Got really lucky, failing Tiptronic only needed cleaning/fluids.

Been getting mail from MG re their upcoming S2k competition, looks ok but Ibet it’ll be £50k+ and as it’s leccy it’ll be auto, plus it’s an MG, might go look when they arrive but buy one? Nah.
can’t find the bloomin pictures otherwise I’d have let you all see it.

That looks like their BEV with the roof off

Chinese, like yanks, chuck stuff together. Wouldn't touch it, their engineering is shit imho.

the sports car died with the ICE imho

I applaud Kia, they are making some ugly cars but they are not generic like Tesla, Byd, MG
