Cayster
Saw one of these at Goodwood on Sunday.
What looked like a Boxster had a note on the windscreen saying something like,
I noticed that Porsche did not make a convertible Cayman, so I decided to make one myself. I took half a Boxster and Half a Cayman, joined them together and the Cayster was born
WTF?
Now I know when it was launched the Cayman had a more powerful engine than the equivalent Boxster but wasn't that sorted at the next Boxster range update?
To all intents and purposes isn't a Cayman a hardtop Boxster?
If you take half of each car, which do you take? Front half - to windscreen aren't they both the same (no engine) or back half - some slight bodywork differences.
Seems to me an incredible waste of money and two cars.
Wonder what he did with the other two halves?
Sadly no picture of the actual car, but if you would like to know what it looked like I suggest going to the Porsche website and looking for a pic of a Boxster.

Rear wings are quite different.
It sort of pokes fun at platform-sharing. I once had an idea about creating an e1-segment car that was half-SAAB half-Lancia and half(???) FIAT. But the panels only LOOK as if they'll fit.
Now the idea of a Boxster/911 cross would put the latter in its place and hopefully produce quite a pleasant car!

You too Dan.
Spent half the trip from Guildford to Goodwood explaining your number plate to my girlfriend.
"So you see, it says S2000?"
"But there's a seven in it"
