Hi All,
Pretty much as the title says, I need to services of a Chipsaway or similar type outfit and was wondering if anybody on here can recommend a good / reliable one in Hants / West Sussex / Dorset areas?
TIA

When I bought my S2000 there was a mark on the bumper which the seller was going to get sorted by chips away, I told him I'd rather he didn't bother.
I'm sure there are good repairs but i've seen a few results that have gone matt quite quickly which I understand is due to them using accelerators in the paint to help it dry quicker as they're not using an oven to bake the paint.

I know a local guy who is very good plus a respectable Chips Away franchise in the Brighton area. Both I commend for their skills and attention to detail. Both of them are extremely honest about these types of repair and describe them as 'temporary'. They are fine for small inconspicuous areas but as the paint has a different makeup to the bodyshop paint so it does not need baking, it will change over time. This goes the same for touch up pens. If the area of damage is large enough or in a conspicuous place it is best to get it done by an approved bodyshop.
Even then, out of 20 resprays that I have picked up on only 5 were finished properly.
The only time it's worth doing is just before you sell the car so it looks pretty when prospective buyers are looking at it.
I've just used some turtlewax coloured wax with a free touch up crayon thing.
The crayon fills in the chip, a quick wax and buff over the top and it's all good.
Clearly not as good as a Tango or a respray, but it makes the chip go away for a couple of months and makes my car look shiny over the summer – and that's all I want.
