Default Civic R-R

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpr...blasts_off.html

260 bhp from the 2.0 litre .. *so* glad they are not hiking up the power of the s2000 to match

Thanks to careful tuning, this car kicks out a tyre-burning 260bhp. It's the same basic i-VTEC 2.0-litre unit, but Honda has reduced friction on the internals and redesigned the camshafts. However, the greatest power gains have come from electronic improvements made using the ECU to operate the VTEC system.
Still looks rubbish though.

I'm guessing that's a new world record for a NA engine then ?

Makes you wonder why they didn't do something similar to the power plant on the S2000 CR.

Hopefully if we do get a UK spec Type R S2000 it will get the same treatment as the Civic.

Why have they glued a roof intake, and put standard exhaust pipes out the cool looking triangular ones???

Why didn't they just give the Type R that much power to begin with, and forget about making this stupid "hardcore" edition???

I would like to test drive it.... as I had a new civic a few months ago for a weekend and that was surpisingly good for a 1.4!

But that air scoop seems pointless, unless of course its for the manual aircon!

All the Civics actually have round exhausts, these just hapen to poke out of the triangular covers...
