Default Company Car decisions

Looks like I'll be moving companies soon to a new position, one of the downsides is that the Car policy at the new place is a bit more restrictive than my current employer, so I may have to ditch the Lotus for something more mundane

Limits on the car policy are as follows;

Petrol cars must be under 160gsm CO2 emissions
Diesel cars can be any CO2 level (slight penalty for over 160, but not much)
Car must be no older than 3 years and under 100,000 miles
Must be 'Business Suitable' ie, no kit cars or commercial vehicles....

Budget of around £500-£600 / month

I've never had to bother with Lease or other schemes before, having preferred to own my cars, but I'm wondering if lease hire might be a better option for something like this?

Anyone got any suggestions for cars that might fit into the above and wont drive me round the bend - it will be my only car, as I have no space at my current place for more than one car unfortunately

you may need to be a little more specific

sports car/ convertible/coupe/ saloon/ etc.

number of seats

performance or mile muching ability

all you've specified really is co2 emissions, age and cost pm

I'll be home based, so mileage will be to clients sites only, probably be under 8000 a year, fuel is paid via a fuel card

With regards to car type, I'm after something that's interesting, not bothered about the type of car to be honest, so long as it is quick and comfortable and not boring to drive.

Don't know if it will fit in your budget though. Probably have to do 4 years and limited mileage.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'd already considered the 335d, will have to go and try some I guess.

Nott, not a Company Car in the classic sense, I would own the car, but am given an allowance for it that has to fit certain criteria
