DAB's great, worth it for Planet Rock alone, if you like that kind of thing.

What put me off that model is that it only plays MP3, and all my recordings are in WMA.

Make up a few compilation CDs of albums in MP3 format, but the memory card is a lot less faff and easy to change the tracks around on.

DAB is great the issue on in car is the aerial, it needs to be a decent external one - I found internal ones not too good.

JVC unit in Civic is good, but I would suggest a powered twig - the reception's really crap round here.

Also remember that coverage is about 85% UK wide, so if you travel a LOT it might get annoying switching to FM in areas where coverage is crap

Thing is with DAB, you can get away with a piece of external wire, instead of a twig.

Otherwise, I'd not get it in the house.

It just won't go through Pilkington K glass!

Signal strength is DAB's biggest issue - rumour is that when analogue tv gets switched off they'll be able to up the power on Freeview and DAB which should make things better (if a long way away still)

How about a big bendy CB stlyle aerial attached to the boot with a magnet?

You can either pretend you're a minicab or in Smokey and the Bandit - your choice!

Isn't DAB becoming obsolete soon?

That rings a bell - partly since no-one can agree on protocols so it's all gotta change, IIRC.

Still, everything's obsolete as soon as it's on the market, electonically.

But DAB adaptors are cheap - I use
