Default Dash board flocking

Flocking a dashboard for those who do not know is a process of applying fibres to a dash board to give it a velvet/cloth effect. Simular to a really expensive pool table is a good way to describe it. Alot of rally cars and races have it done for looks and to stop sun glare and heat build up of the dash in the cabin.

My friend and I are going into the business buying an existing company. The company has experienced staff and an excellent reputation in the south west UK. The previous owner only does it part time but we feel there is alot of potational for more.

My post is to basically inquire it anyone on here would get it done to their S2K. I'm sure red, blue or yellow dash boards would look good.

Not for me to be honest, but that doesn't mean there isn't a good potential market for it.

Good luck.

I think those who want a different look or suffer from dash fade by ageing would be most likely to do this. Cuts down on the need for cleaning products as a professional vacuum does the job.

I think the target market may be much younger drivers.
I'm struggling to see the potential though.

I can understand it being used for the given reasons in race/rally cars, but it being used for its looks?!?

Have you got any more pictures of one in a car?

Get yourself over to Meganesport.net.
They are flocking nuts.

The S2k is the last thing I would do this too.
But the Megane has some shocking dash trim panels that would look good in this.

Another RS forum member has been applying Alcantera to interior panels with great effect.
This would look similar and no doubt be cheaper.

Steve.

Would this be difficult to clean? Also, would it fade after a while?

Couldnt see myself putting it into my S but maybe others would...
