Love that ITR. Great work you've done there.

I miss mine still.

Phil- Great question but unfortunately i didn't have 15k to spend in one go so built this up over 2 years . Yes a lot of money has gone into this and a shed load of time between me and a few close mates. We spent around 140 hours in 4 weeks alone on the engine bay. I know Hondas well and i know how to get the most out of the DC2 on track so it just seemed like the best thing for me. I will keep on progressing it until i get bored of it to be honest. I would love to enter a Time Attack series next year but we will see how funds are. It is all just about having fun, progressing the car and more importantly progressing myself.
Think I've probably bumped into you when you've been at Oulton Park then....I used to drive around in a Black ATR and watch Andy on track in a Red ATR
Have you not thought about the vtec challenge series??

Cheers guys,

Yeah i did think about VTEC Challenge and would like to enter but not in the ITR. I would happily push this thing to the edge setting fast laps but racing is a whole different kettle of fish. I would just buy a EG or EK shell, B20, sump baffles, oil cooler and bigger rad, meisterR coilovers and brakes, fuly stripped, cage, bucket, harness and away you go all for under 4 grand and let it get battle scars and beat up . Maybe in a few years .

I know Ron hates most of my new plans for the DC2 but i will be doing them over the next 12 months...

Exterior/Aero
APR carbon wing mirrors
Voltex rear wing (may go OEM wing with carbon lip add on)
Top one rear diffuser
Mega sideskirts like below (PCI)
Front splitter
Double canards
Spoon sports sun strip

Chassis
Enkei RPF1s or Rota TrackRs (in Lumo yellow or Black as i am sick of white wheels and brake dust!!)
Full slicks
Spherical RTA bearings
Camber items
Geo and corner weight

Engine
Full rebuild this winter
ITBs
Apexi power FC
Remap
Mfactory Close ratio gearset and 4.7 or .9 final drive
Mfactory carbon synchros
Accusump

Things already acquired
Oil temp and pressure gauges
Weld in sump baffles (had them 8 months now!!)
Large alloy rad
Oil cooler
New N/S headlight
Spoon carbon front splitter to run brake ducting from (will be going CW)

WOW AND THERE GOS ANOTHER 4-5K!!! But look how insane this looks...

Holy Cow!

Someone who has done it PROPERLY.

Very nice job, hope to see it one day.
Welcome to the forums...

Steve
Of course it is done properly. If i'm involved, it is definitely going to be done properly!

LOL - I had no idea Ron!

Hats off twice then mate.

LOLOLOL. You have been a great help dude but i have stood on my own two feet in terms of what parts/mods went on the car. Trying to convince you that the wire tuck was a good idea took some time though haha and i think you nearly spat your dummy out when i showed you the Takata Harnesses PMSL.

Haha yes Ron doesn't have work overalls, he just seems to love working on cars in his dressing gown . Rons really been a big help in this build and i couldn't of done it without his help. I took over his garage for a few months over winter and practically lived at his house when building this car up! Always great working with him and things may not always run smoothly but we always have fun! Always embarresing telling people how we met though haha.

Hi Guys, Long couple of weeks so sorry i have not been bobbing round the forum much. Looking around this forum is like a labarynth of information!!! It just keeps on going!!

Well since Anglesey a few weeks back i have been a tad busy...

New huge enduro alloy rad
18 row oil cooler
sump baffles in
Carbon gurney flap
carbon spoon lip running brake ducts painted CW (well black for this week as he didn't get Champ White paint in time lol)
APR Carbon mirros
wheels rebalanced and chassis GEO'd up after Anglesey's banzai laps using some pretty hectic curbs haha!!

All going on or already fitted. This weekend was simply insane! Two track days in one weekend!! Pictures will follow with full write up but for now...

DC2 will now be going in the bodyshop for a bit of a tidy before a few more surprises are added in time for August 10 at Oulton again .

Blyton
After a day’s worth of prep getting the car sorted I was finished late on Saturday night. Got about 4 hours sleep before having to drive the 3 hours to Blyton. Waking up at 4AM was a bast#rd on a Sunday haha. It rained all the way there and it looked like it was only getting worse. Pulled up at the track and for some unknown reason Blyton park seemed to be right under a patch of blue sky all day!!! On with Ron off here (in the world’s fastest bath tub), Kiwi in his Golf (which went well all things considered) and Dev in his EVO 4 (which just seems to have too much grip for physics to actually come into it). I did 7 or 8 sessions and it was only wet for one of them!!! I found this track very challenging to be honest. considering how flat and short it looks it really is a b#stard haha!! So heavy on brakes and the corners seem to have very little flow to them. Did enjoy running my spoon N1 and making some proper noise due to the relaxed noise testing. Put in some pretty standard laps to be honest. I was just knackered haha!! Got home after another 3 hours in possibly the most ridiculous rain ever. Then spent the next 2 hours prepping the car for Donington the very next day.

Donington
So after bugger all sleep i am up again at stupid o'clock driving again in crappy rain. Feeling like an absolute zombie tbh. Get to Dony and it is still raining so i kind of let myself know i am tackling Craners for the first time in the wet lol. Meet up with Neil and get over for the safety briefing. Made me laugh when he was talking about strict noise regs but had to pause halfway through as a pissing jet plane took off over head. Sighting laps where done in the wet and my god Craners is just magic. Pulled back in the pits and went to grab some breakfast. By the time we were heading out for our first laps the sun had come out and the track was dry!!!! RESULT!! I couldn't beleive how close the EK and DC2 where!! That EK9 bloody rips through the revs like a bike!! Spent the day jumping in the 9 for passengers and vis versa then going out for another blast in both cars. Was just so chilled out and such an amazing way to spend a track day. Will be getting more booked with Neil for sure as all we were there to do is have maximum FUN!! We gave each other tips and tricks to help each other learn the track faster and it was just all in all a proper amazing day. Redgate was the only corner we both had trouble with to be honest. As i am still used to battering it down mountain passes i rely on a good early turn in and i would rather be slightly slower on the exit than apex too late and run wide off a cliff haha. Transferring this to the track has obviously been hard for me and i am learning to apex much later to combat this as i have the margin for some error . Unfortunately Blyton had killed my pads the day before so i had to call it a day earlier than i had hoped . Still got a good 4-5 sessions though and tbh it was for the best as i was soo damn sleepy haha!!! Ohh PS rinsing it at 115-120MPH down Craners and seeing a big red NEXT bag on your Apex was interesting.....

Great thread! Looks like you had a great time, if extremely tired, never fun but looks like the day(s) were amazing! All credit to you for the effort you have put in.

Am I the only one to read this and thing WTF

Was absolutley gutted. Nothing i could do and luckily all parts where insured. 60mph t-boning a bmw e46 bloody hurts. Seat lifted off the rails and flung my head into the windscreen and chest into a nice 320mm momo wheel!! I ended up losing about 6 grand when the insurance finally paid out a year and a half after the crash!!
