Default DeLorean

Saw a DMC-12 in my village yesterday. First time I've ever seen one in the flesh. I know it is a dog to drive but it really was a wonderful sight.

Can't say there are many cars that get me excited nowadays. This one ticked the box. Made my day

It was futuristic (no pun meant) for sure and you can still get parts!

It was a 'dog to drive' because the US regs meant that the ride height (bumper height?) had to be increased. The original ride height version was fine. This has caused the demise of many a model.

Is DeLorean still alive?

They definately still manage to turn heads. Always a car I'd love to own but can't justify it when there are so many better cars out there. They just look flippin fantastic.

Last month 76 of them came back to Belfast from all over the place to celebrate it's 30th anniversary. To see so many in one place was amazing.

The only person to make money out of Delorean was Colin Chapman.

I remember visiting the plant back in the day when they were having horrendous issues with the brushed stainless body panels. Other manufacturers had "body in white" sections but they had "body in black"

One of my claims to fame is that I modified the design of the Porsche 944 ashtray for the production cars to avoid any infringements.
