Dilemma....
While I swore I couldnt afford to own one, a friend has offered me his 8MR (tweaked to over 300 bhp) for a very tempting price. He's the sort of chap you would want to buy a car off too, extreeeemely fussy.
Have been in it, but not driven it and it doesnt seem like hard work. I do really miss the raw low down grunt of a rally beast, and also the riduculous grip!
Wont be for a few months which is ideal timing, and no hassle buying it etc.
Has anyone owned both? Mike?
Tempting.... but then I get out of mine and its the best looking car ive owned. Ever!

tweaked or not, they are the runt of the litter and prices reflect that
EVOs are not an easy car to shift and I saw some that been advertised for over six months
better to get a FQ320 to start with imo
not comparable with the S
faster in any increment, on any surface, on any road
I haven't got a clue about tracks

Isn't the servicing schedule pretty extreme?
and mid-teens mpg coupled with a little tank
usual story, buy with your eyes open, knowing the running costs
they are very expensive cars to run, thank ****, keeps a lot of people out of them
Pete,
I know the car well. The 260 has 1 less gear and a smaller rear wing. Its a 280 but properly tweaked. It has the right mods on it, HKS hardpipe kit etc...
I dont think the tank is as small as it was with the E6 and also got a suspicion the 4500 interval (which was just the diff) can be done either DIY or cheapy by a specialist.
I dont think the insurance or fuel will be much more than my STi, so its just going to be the servicing and consumables.

and it's not easy to answer because of the range of engines and the fact that two years is straddling the V11 and V111
but I'd say
