Bucket Thought of that one !!

I like the look of hte little Impi thing - my thinking is it saves time and packing - and with awnings etc. is a viable alternative to a motor home without being as expensive.

Do they get really wobbly in the wind then?

Unfortunately not possible as the boot and back of car are full (and I mean full!) of Caterham stuff - tools, jacks, stands, wheels, stuff I don't really want to empty out onto the floor/rain every time

Do-able and in fact possibly less time ocnsuming than setting up a tent, but I'd prefer to keep a lot of it in the car - more secure, drier etc.
Wouldn't that be better all on a car trailer with lockable tool boxes?

Wouldn't all fit in there, trust me !!

I have a wheel rack on my trailer and I'd love an enclosed one (wouldn't need a tent then) but doesn't fit in the garage

Tools I take (to give you an idea):

* Big plastic crate with axle stands, grease, various "stuff"
* Big metal toolbox for sockets, spanners etc.
* Jack
* 8 wheels (on trailer)
* few tools which don't fit in the boxes e.g. electric drill etc.
* sometimes spare rear and front wings and occasionally an exhaust
* 3 jerry cans
* oil, coolant, pump for the jerry cans
* front anti-roll bars (3)
* various blankets and stuff to kneel/lay on
* tent, sleeping bag, air mattress, stove, food, drink (for 3 days or so), spare clothes etc.
* Sparco bag with racing gear in it + separate helmet bag

Wouldn't all fit in that little box on the front there - I suspect that is a jerry can attachment for the trailer, which unfortunately won't fit on mine as I have a hinged tow-arm thing on the trailer which folds up.

It also increases the hitch weight quite a lot

Yes hence that roof tent thing - love it !

Those pesky lions are a real issue at Oulton!
It's funny - when walking in Broxbourne woods, one can hear lions roaring in the Zoo. It's one of the most primaevally unnerving sounds one can hear. And I'm not exactly Kunta Kinteh, other than a pile of DNA.
