Something a drift there chap. You will not be able to affix a 56 plate but most importantly you should not be paying the higher tax.

Mistakes are quite common when it comes down to DVLA and imports, get it sorted, you are due a refund.

I can imagine that twerp in the DVLA laughing like a maniac as he pressed the button to ensure all Jap imports pay higher tax!
You can't fight the gov't or their agencies even if they are wrong and the louder you shout the less is your chance of winning.

No, I have checked - i'm stuck with the higher band.

I had the same issue and got it resolved but my car was a paralell import where as yours is considered Grey import. Maybe that makes a difference?

Total pants, any excuse to screw you for more money..... I really am pi$$ed off with the Uk at the moment, there is nothing Great about Great Britain anymore

I have a plan, it involves moving to Oz, I know they have similar issues to the Uk but at least the sun shines!
