Bernie has been desperate to dump this race since I've been going (1996)

The stalling point is that Silverstone want a long-term (17+ races) contract before they will agree, so that they can improve the circuit.

This is far from a done deal.

I just can't see it not existing in the future, what with the number of British teams, the mass popularity of the sport here, etc.

It's all just posturing. It'll be at Silverstone.

In some respect I'm pleased Donnington isn't getting the British F1 round, as I like the circuit the way it is. There plan looked interesting, but they should have extended the track out, instead of redesigning the existing. It's almost as bad as the plans that were proposed for Brand hatch a few years back

TBH I don't want Silverstone to get it either. The only race I can remember of any note was Mansell vs Piquet in 1987.

What a shame Rockingham wasn't designed with a larger infield to allow for F1.

The only interesting races at silverstone are in the wet.
Why a track like brazil as old as it cant be partially replicated at other circuits I just dont know. Why does Brazil work every year with two overtaking points yet Silverstone doesnt work anywhere unless its wet?

You also need to factor in a very popular British world champion for next season.

Get Palmer involved, he'd sort it.

Or why not just put the pretty cars on display somewhere and concentrate on the politics. No one would notice.
