Default European Breakdown cover

I've got several European jaunts lined up this year but most of the quotes won't cover a car more than 11 years old in Europe...my S is 15 years old this summer.

Has anyone obtained cover recently?

Eurotunnel will cover cars up to 15 http://www.eurotunne...reakdown-cover/

RAC and the AA have no age limit, according to this: http://www.rac.co.uk...breakdown-cover

You probably need to get it as an add-on to any existing cover.

Clive
make sure you read the cover carefully. cheapest is not always best and it can be expensive business recovering your car to the UK on a flatbed, or having to return to Europe once repairs have been made locally.

I used Green Flag for the last few years and they seem to have a good range of reasonably priced products.

However I have never had call to use them so cant vouch for their response.

where are you planning on heading..?

Cheers Andy - good tip.
Found a good price then read the terms and found European cover was limited to cars less than 11 years old

Off the the Laon Historique weekend in May, the annual pilgrimage to the Le Mans 24 hours in June and a 2 week 'Italian Job' style trip over the Alps to Lake Garda in September.

More miles planned this year than the last 4 years aggregated...

Keep us posted. So jealous. I have no plans to cross the channel in the S this year unless its a last moment decision

Britannia Rescue (I think they are now owned and run by LV) are very good, but no idea how they go on premiums.

I have just taken out 10 day cover with www.vehicle-rescue.com, they go up to 16yr old cars with various lengths of cover available. Not needed them yet so no idea what they are like, backed by Axa though
