I'm glad someone mentioned the VI TM. I was gonna mention this in ur other thread. I reckon this was the best evo ever made, and the last true great rally car for the road. The VII and VIII are more road releases to keep rally fans happy, not road cars built so rally cars can be homologated, like the I >> V before.
Unfortunately its a bit in yer face image puts people off but it will hold its value.
I know what u mean about suspension absorbtion, it was the main thing that impressed me with every VII and VIII I've been a passenger in. No banging and clatter from stiff suspension just effortless rough road surface control.

Id like a 22B really Almost no depreciation if you keep the miles off, and a really really special car IMO. Not as competent as an EVO however.

I think they are totally over-rated and overly expensive. I'd be willing to bet an STI-5 Type-R with basic mods would be a more effective and enjoyable car lacking only the 'badge'. Very much IMHO

While I agree, that's not why you buy a 22b!

The P1 is the one that puzzles me....

You can go round corners much much faster than you can in the S.
Are you sure?

I suspect the Evo may feel faster, but would it really corner faster on a dry track?

For sure the Evo will let you put your foot down and scrub the tyres whilst cornering, where as the S will dish out some punishment if over provoked.

But I'd doubtul if it really was better at cornering.

At the 1st Lotus day, there was a guy (below) who could not get any where near me in the timed session at the end of the day. And boy did he have enough goes! Admittedly this was quite a tight technical course.

what's the best unmodded EVO 7 or 8?

is it the 260/280/320/340 - there are that many different models!

and what about FQ vs MR - what's the difference ( i know FQ is allegedly meant stand for Fecking Quick).

CB, I think you may be right on a track, but 99% of my driving is on UK tarmac And some of it is pretty shitty. The AWD stuff is great at this.

Believe me, the S would stand no chance on a country raod!

IIRC Top Gear reckon that the FQ320 is the daddy...

Agreed!

Plus that power would leave an S behind on the straight bits.
