Really starting to question the merits of my Evo subscription.
In this month's issue 22 of the first 42 pages are ads or "Advertisement features" for Shell petrol.
One of the ads is over about 6 pages.
Two - yes two - advertisement features of 4 pages plus.

I know a magazine has to sell advertising space and maybe every issue is over 50% ads, it just stands out so much more when it's for one brand.
I'm sure the publishers would get more money from 22 separate 1 page ads, though it would take a bit more work to bring in.

And the icing on the cake was the star letter, some bloke gets a

My copy has just arrived the advertising is shocking.
Shell must have paid for this issue.

I got a letter from them a few days back saying that the subscription price is going up, but you still save 11% over the shop price

My cancellation letter will be written shortly

Oh the irony - "I don't like the Veyron, cos it's a VW, innit". I don't like the Porsche 911, cos it's a VW, innit...

And what with Porsche now owning 20% of VW IIRC, even more so.
