Default Extra steering lock for BMWs

Hey guys, I've got a couple of buddies who drift their E46s and they've been begging me to make up some brackets for the hubs to move the track rod mount points closer to the wheel hub's point of pivot.
Finally got over my laziness tonight and have knocked a mock set up which will be tested tomorrow.

I'll update on here if they're any good and if they are I'll happily make some up for anyone who wants some.
I'd very much appreciate the word being spread around

I'll be jumping onto drift and bimmer forums once a working model is complete and spread the word myself but in the meantime if you do know anyone you'll be officially awesome if you let them know!

Cheers guys!

Pics and maybe videos tomorrow!

Does that work easily with a double-pivot strut?

Trying hard to imagine the kinematics, here...

They bolt onto the hub/knuckle via the tie rod hole and the bottom arm pivot.
There is a new hole which is slightly closer to the pivot point of the hub for the tie rod, so whilst the tie rod travels the same distance the hub turns more.

The steering will feel slightly heavier but the rate and angle will both increase.

I'll slam a picture up of the ones I made in a couple of minutes.

Ah right! Makes sense now - thanks for the explanation.

I've always struggled a bit with these 'walking steering axis' things. Even if they mean one is not constrained to massive-offset wheels, as with Hondas.

Funny you should say that ... It's not as simple but still possible for the S2000 .. Interested?
