Also McLaren will not earn any constructors points for the race.

I'm slightly suprised, to be honest. I was expecting a bit of a whitewash, especially after what Ron said.

That's sad. Hopfully he can at least steal a place or two in the 1st lap.

Good decision, although he should start from the back of the grid as far as I am concerned.

McLaren not being allowed to score constructors points though, what a pile of crap.

I don't know whether the report I quoted above about Alonso's physio counting down time for him has been corroborated but, if it is, it casts a rather different light on things. The stewards must presumably have had SOME basis for deciding that it was deliberate and Alonso trying to steal an unfair advantage.

In which case, I can't agree it's sad. Alonso expected, as World Champion, that he would be number one at McClaren this year. Hamilton is much closer to him than anyone expected and Alonso doesn't like that. If he's feeling his number one status is threatened and he has to resort to stunts like this to safeguard it, it's safe to say his future will lie elsewhere.

Whatever Ron is saying in public, I'm guessing he tore a strip off Alonso in private. If he didn't, he certainly will do if what Dembo says about McClaren not scoring any constructors points for Hungary is correct....

Before all this happened today they were saying that the McLarens were strong in Hungary and wanted to take the max 18 possible points as the next two GPs Ferrari should have the upper hand.

Ron is gonna be pi$$ed about this...

Well, is he still a cheating Spanish bastard after this (excellent) statement from Ron? - http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/61368

Very impressed with Ron's frank and detailed statement.
naivety beyond belief! Ron's frank and detailed load of bollocks would be a more accurate description.

Why wasn't Alonso sent to the back of the grid as Schumacher was in Monaco, for being deemed to deliberately spoil a rival's qualifying run? Once again, proof that McLaren still get away with this shit! I wonder if we'll see Keke Rosberg, Jackie Stewart and all the other has-beens denouncing Alonso's antics as they did with Schumacher's? Wasn't this more blatant?

Alonso got what he deserved. It was the stupidest thing to do, especially if he didn't think he was going to get punished for it. He's a lot less intelligent than I gave him credit for.

Alonso is one of very few drivers who has dared to exhibit it in the past 10 or 20 years, the only others willing to do the same have been Schumi, Prost, and Senna. All multiple champions.
The difference is that when things go wrong the others would not winge and blame unlike Fernando "everybody's fault but mine" Alonso.

That and the others had something he really lacks, class.

Making up for the lack of punishment over the stolen plans?
