Hamilton seemed strangely lacklustre at the start of the race, and with Alonso for the first time this year seeming back on form I guess it was unlikely Hamilton was going to win.

The cars always look spectacular around Monaco (especially the swimming pool bit), so it does hold my interest more than any other dull race, but it as a bit dull it has to be said. No real battles anywhere.

 

His somewhat ironic verbal slip reveals more about him than I wish to know, such as a less palatable motivation for making history in British motor sport.

Serves him right that he did not win.

 

Alonso's quali lap on the exit of the wimming pool was stunning! He absolutely threw it in.

 

I think a point was comprehensively made

Both in qualifying and in the race

Alonso is a double world champion

Hamilton a talented rookie

At the moment, the difference is quite sufficient

I remember Ferrari processions to the line being widely slated in the past

I'm still waiting for a similar condemnation folllowing today's last 20 lap demonstration drive

 

Both red cars were nowhere all afternoon. This may be an indication that the momentum left by Brawn and Schumacher is slowing.

This is the first full GP I watched since Senna passed away, and probably the last...

Ok maybe Monaco wasn't the best one to watch, but it was bloody dull.

I am sticking to Moto GP Has me on the edge of my seat nearly every time.

Hamilton is just annoying me now, bitching about being told to cool it in the final phase of the race (and subsequently admitting he ignored the advice).

He says he came in knowing he was the number 2 driver, but it's plain to see that he has gotten carried away with the media hype believing himself to be the next Senna, and has now suddenly come back down to reality with a bang.

it's strange but I guess inevitable.. his father looked ticked off as well..

clearly Dennis (who would almost give up a whole season to win at Monaco) had dictated the grid to corner 1 procedure.. but then after that, Hamilton wasn't quick enough in the first 20laps to make an impact on the race.. so there is no point moaning about the last 20..
