On the Beeb news the decesion as to whether Silverstone will be used in 2005 is due any minute............

He cut the Austrian GP last year without uproar. Likewise the even-longer established GP at Spa-Francochamps (albeit it came back this year). I wouldn't count on popular disquiet stopping Bernie doing what he wants, nor on any sympathy from him based on Silverstone's place as the traditional home of British motorsport.

Well it is a bit of a pit, but I do recall him saying to Martin Brundle on one of his pit walks that it would be staying?

I do wonder what on earth will happen in F1 when Bernie finally relinquishes the reigns or dies - he must be in his late 70's now? There's going to be a real vacuum, could be disastrous for F1, with all the big manufacturers squabbling to assert themselves.
