Anyone else notice the fastest lap order? It was Alonso, Raikonnen, Hamilton, Massa, the reverse of the finishing order with fuel load.
I think his choice of tyres was due to his heavier fuel load. I suspect he'd have got too much degradation over 1 lap on the softs with a tank full, so opted for the more durable hard tyres, safe in the knowledge that pole was so much of a lottery.

That's the closest it's been for a while at the top, and each driver was clearly at their maximum as reflected in the tiny margin between their fastest laps.

Maybe Hamilton is struggling for setup, so has gone light to get a decent grid slot. Alonso is more happy with the car, so has gone longer on the fuel.

it was probably a case of rock paper scissors on who got the choice of fuel load

The start of this race could be a bit ugly. I think Hamilton will stuff it up the inside of Massa. Alonso to win it anyway imvho.

Barrichello now also has changed an engine. So both Honda cars start at the back.

Maybe they're doing it deliberately to hide the lack of race pace by starting last.

what do you expect when the technical director is essentially only a motorbike expert..

the technology of making a fast formula one car is much more relevant to the knowledge gained in designing planes and boats than motorbikes...

oh yeah.. willis car (P11).. he was a plane and boat guy..
