Default Fast Diesel

Okay I "may" have a new job coming up, problem is it's a good 30 mile drive from me.

And this is why i want a diesel for good MPG.

However I'm a but fussy and require a very fast one if possible (~7's 0-60 as an idea), wouldnt mind at all getting an ECU reprogram.

Can anyone recommend one?

Have about 14-15k to spend

Also looking at my finances, Its almost certain I will need to get rid of the S .

IMO your number of miles you expect to commute doesn't justify a "fast" diesel.

and as soon as diesels get interesting performance in the bigger cars.. the mpg can drop off quite a bit..and be worse than the S2000..

it would need to be small and light to get best of both worlds..

Agreed, the BMW 335 has good MPG mid 30's and is fast? - though i cant afford a 535

I was thinking perhaps a Seat or VW, possibly a new'ish Seat leon.

No

You won't find a "fast" diesel that does >35mpg.

You think mid 30's is good mpg and will save you money.

Money saving opinions aside, if it's mostly motorway miles then my 204bhp 330d will do nearly 40mpg.
