Default Ferrari 308 GTS/GTB

Hi

Currently I have an unexplained desire to buy a Ferrari 308 GTB or GTS (actually, I just want to be Magnum PI!). I'm not really one to spend

I have a similar slow burning desire for an F348 or F355.

Gaddafi on here is wise and used to own an F348.

Just don't mention you have dodgy friends

I've driven a 328 and found it a fairly underwhelming experience but remember that we are talking about a 20 or so year old car, and there have been big advances in power, braking, steering etc since then. Still it's a great looking car but it'll be a high day and holiday car, not a daily driver.

Best you drive one and make your own mind up.

I test drove a nice clean 308GTS in South Africa a couple of years ago. I'd always loved them, and after driving one I love them even more. This example was white which was stunning.

As for the driving experience, I liked it. The position isn't for everybody, the pedals are very offset to the left because the front wheels cut into the footwell.

The steering is heavy, but very feelsome (better feel than the S), same for the brakes. Gearchange was very nice once warm, very mechanical snick snick much like the S. Power and speed, well it is a 1984 car, and it was in Joburg at altitude, so it didn't feel quite as fast as an S does at sea level. Overall though I don't think the difference is as big as people might imagine. Ahe sound was very nice too, a high revving V8 right behind your head makes abig impression.

My recommendation, search one out and try it, I liked it and you might too
