After waiting almost six months for parts to repair our Generation 1 Insight, it was eventually repaired in July, following a minor shunt to the rear by an inattentive bint in a Golf.
A week ago at some considerable cost, the front bumper and bonnet were repainted, as well as the driver's door, to remove stone chips and a car park ding. And with the polishing of the car headlight, the Insight was looking great...
... until early yesterday evening.
Mrs Canny-Body, who lives nearby, couldn't cross her ford as it was blocked by a broken-down van. Considerately she chosee to park (or more accurately, abandon) her Qashqai in front of our car port, completely blocking access to it. Mrs P arrives home, and unable to park in the car port, parks behind the Qashqai, albeit some 15-20 feet away.
Some 15 minutes later there's a knock at the door by Mrs Canny-Body to say she has knocked the number plate off our car while reversing...

It's a little more than a displaced number plate.
Bonnet is completely knackered, Front bumper cracked. Upper support beam under bonnet is bent. NS Headlight pushed-back. NS wing pushed-back.
Upon first inspection, there's a grand worth of parts to replace.
Thankfully there were no kids playing nearby.
As the neighbour wishes to go through her insurance, Admiral have, as usual, put us onto their accident management company. F_uck-it; I'm going to go with them and we'll push for a BMW i8 as a courtesy car as it's the only comparable vehicle to the Insight...

I can let you have some bluetac to fix the number plate back on. Did she think you wouldn't notice the rest of the damage? Or was she trying to break the news gently.
Should have gone to Specsavers.

Rotten luck, Mark.
Some cars just seem to attract unsolicited damage by myopic bints. Reversing cameras will soon be law, but that means paying attention.
To a certain extent, I've just given up being too concerned any more.
I hope it gets sorted OK - and quickish.
