Wash your mouth out - it's nothing like that monstrosity!

(Yes, my 911 has got a small "hoop" type spoiler, although I can't think why the Scooby's spoiler would put you in mind of it! Not something I would have specified at new myself, but there are precious few manual 993 Targas around so I couldn't afford to be too choosy when one came up that ticked all the other boxes)
You took your time!

Just to clarify... it's the "Vane" spoiler I don't like, both on your car and dreamers.

Yeah it is a bit weird - I don't really notice it anymore tbh. Too distracted by the ironing board vibrating in the rear view mirror !!

Ah, that one! TBH, I hadn't even spotted that one so assumed you were talking about the big wing - hence my confusion.

As Jo says, the eye tends to get drawn to the ironing board rather than the one at the top of the rear screen

Surely that should be 'vain' spolier.

So gaddafi, anyone who lives in council housing are the dregs of society? My entire village used to be council owned, most of the houses have now been purchased including my own,but by the same tennants who always lived in them.I earn a very good living but have no desire to leave the area.We don't have any of the things you've stated are the norm so we must be a one off.I lived in london for 7 years and despite the housing costing a fortune it was the biggest shithole i've ever been in.So council or private you're going to get good and bad.

I have to say I agree with Gad, but the key is "usually" - not always.

Most of the council estates that I know of (around my parents, grandparents and around here) are pretty bad/rough.

The one I grew up near (near my parents place - not where they actually live) (Sunnyside in Hitchin); all the horrible kids came from there. No burnt out cars though, all 3 series bimmers and suchlike, although this was 15 years ago so no idea what it's like now !

The others ones in that area, in Letchworth and the other side of Hitchin, all had reputations for being rough.

My mum is from a council estate in Garston, her parents are of "that" mentality, as is her sister who lives in an ex-council house in Hemel. The Garston one wasn't too bad iirc, but the Hemel one is awful.

As for "that" mentality, here's ane xample; my grandparents (fat and smelly) had a smoke alarm fitted by "the council". When the batterys went, they refused to replace them. "the caancil fit'ed it so they can replace it". No thought that it might help THEM

My extremely overweight aunt is so stupid she's not only made herself diabetic but refuses to do anything about it and then got pregnant. How a 5ft 4 25 stone diabetic ex-shoplifter stupid woman was going to have a kid, god only knows. When she was asked her answer was "well they'll look after me".

These people really do believe in this magical "they" who will look after them. Sadly, this "they" does exactly that.

Her ex-husbands kids are either in Borstal, or in council provided housing and are too lazy to get jobs....

the list goes on.

/rant

There aren't any that I know of near here, but there were some near my place in Windsor, and Wycombe, and again all fairly bad - loads of cars, all old bangers falling apart, houses faling apart etc.

However, not all are like that.

Can we keep this even vaguely on topic, please folks?

I think we can save a discussion about the relative merits and demerits of council estate house and occupants for another thread.

Thanks.
